A simple concept
Slot lot transforms an asphalt parking lot into a raingarden by cutting a pattern of perforations into the surface. The result is an unconventional raingarden form that allows the lot to capture and infiltrate rain. A new American garden carved from the post industrial landscape.
Intercept and Infiltrate
Slot Lot functions in part like trial garden for native plants. Conditions on the lot can be harsh: heat, wind, and prolonged dry periods test a plants ability to survive. Plants like Rudbekia, shown here, Little Blue Stem, Swamp Milkweed, and several Aster species respond favorably.
